Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat announced Monday his appointment of Daryl Woodard of Tulsa to the board of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Woodard is the chief executive officer of SageNet, a Tulsa-based technology firm. He is Treat’s first appointment to the Department of Corrections (DOC) board.

Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat on Tuesday announced his appointment of Robert “Bob” Boyd of Owasso to the board of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.

Under legislation signed into law in March, the Health Care Authority (OHCA) is among five of the largest state agencies who now have agency directors who are hired and fired by the governor. The reforms also created nine-member boards at each of the five agencies made up of five appointments by the governor and two each by the Senate pro tem and the House speaker.

The Senate Retirement and Insurance Committee in a special meeting on Thursday acted on a House bill that would provide a 2 percent cost of living adjustment for state pension retirees contingent on the outcome of an actuarial study of the pension systems.

Senator Dewayne Pemberton, R-Muskogee, is the Senate author of House Bill 2304 and filed a committee substitute to ensuring the bill followed the provisions of the Oklahoma Pension Legislation Actuarial Analysis Act (OPLAAA).

OKLAHOMA CITY In a bipartisan, unanimous vote, the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday advanced a House teacher pay raise bill as the Senates leader said budget negotiations are progressing well.

House Bill 1780 by Speaker Charles McCall would implement a $1,200 teacher pay raise bill at a cost of $70 million annually. President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, is the Senate author of the bill.

Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat announced on Monday his appointment of Don Freymiller of Edmond to serve as a commissioner on the state transportation commission.

Freymiller is the second of two appointments Pro Tem Treat has made to the transportation commission under a new law that gives the governor the ability to hire the head of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and gives the governor, House speaker, and Senate president pro tempore appointments to the transportation commission.
