Sen. Rosino tapped for new leadership role in 58th Legislature

Sen. Paul Rosino, R-Oklahoma City, has again been chosen for multiple leadership positions for the 58th Legislature. Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat has asked Rosino to continue his service as vice chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, as well as vice chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services.

In addition, Rosino has been named as chair of the Senate Committee on General Government, the committee that hears legislation impacting state, county and local government entities. He will also hold seats on the Senate Finance Committee and the full Appropriations Committee. Rosino also serves as the Senate chair of the Legislative Veterans Caucus.

“The work we do in each of these committees impacts countless Oklahomans throughout our state and right here in Senate District 45.  Whether we’re talking about efforts to improve Oklahoma’s health outcomes, modernize government operations, or our efforts to balance a budget impacted by the pandemic and low energy prices, the stakes are high, but so are the opportunities to move our state forward,” Rosino said.  “I’m grateful to Pro Tem Treat for entrusting me with these leadership positions, and I look forward to working with my fellow members to meet the challenges ahead.”

The Senate will convene for an organizational day on Jan. 5 and will formally begin the work of the 2021 session on Feb. 1.
