Oklahoma Rifle Association names McCortney Legislator of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY- Senate Majority Floor Leader Greg McCortney was presented with the esteemed ORA Legislator of the Year award. The Ada Republican was selected as the 2024 honoree by the Oklahoma Rifle Association and was recognized for his continual efforts to uphold Oklahomans’ Second Amendment rights.

“The right to bear arms isn't just about guns; it's about preserving individual liberty and ensuring that our citizens can exercise their right to self-defense and protect their families and communities. I stand with the people of Oklahoma in defending this fundamental right and look forward to furthering legislative efforts with our partners at ORA to implement additional protections for our state’s firearm owners and organizations,” McCortney said.

ORA is the official NRA Association for the state of Oklahoma. McCortney was recognized during the organization’s annual reception.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award from the Oklahoma Rifle Association. This acknowledgment serves as a testament to our shared commitment to safeguarding Second Amendment rights and promoting responsible gun ownership and sportsmanship. As a staunch supporter of these principles, I pledge to continue working tirelessly alongside my legislative colleagues to uphold these values,” McCortney said.
