OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Darcy Jech, R-Kingfisher, was sworn in for his third term in the Oklahoma Senate on Nov. 16. Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell presided over the Senate during the ceremony, and Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice Richard Darby administered the oath, which was attended by members of Jech’s family, friends and supporters from throughout District 26.

“I am extremely grateful for the continued faith my constituents have placed in me to represent them in the Oklahoma Senate. I’m also thankful for the meaningful and collaborative relationships that have been created here at the Capitol and throughout the district,” Jech said. “During my time in the Senate, we’ve strengthened the budgeting process, making it more transparent, made critical infrastructure investments, prioritized education and defended the constitutional rights of our citizens. In the next four years, we will build on those successes and continue to move our state forward.”

Jech’s district includes Blaine, Caddo, Custer, Canadian and Kingfisher counties. He currently serves as the chair of the Natural Resources and Regulatory Services Committee as well as the chair of the Rules Committee, and holds seats on the Appropriations, Energy, Judiciary and Public Safety Committees.

“In the coming weeks, we’ll be receiving our new committee assignments for the 59th Legislature and begin filing legislation ahead of the 2023 session,” Jech said. “I look forward to working with my fellow citizens from District 26 on issues that represent their priorities and values in the coming session and throughout my final term in the Oklahoma Senate.”

Session will begin on Feb. 6, but the full Senate will first meet on Jan. 3 for an organizational day.
