Burns statement on historic Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade

Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard, issued the following statement Friday regarding the Supreme Court’s historic ruling overturning Roe v. Wade. 

“Our prayers and voices have finally been heard. The unconscionable murder of innocent lives will come to an end in Oklahoma, and hopefully nationwide, following the Supreme Court’s historic ruling overturning Roe v. Wade and putting this important issue rightfully back in the hands of the states. 

“While this is a joyous occasion and the sanctity of life is now truly protected in Oklahoma, our hearts mourn the millions of babies who never got to take their first breath or pursue their dreams. We are just prayerful that other states follow Oklahoma’s strong lead in protecting those without a voice and no more innocent lives are tragically lost.”
