Sen. Jo Anna Dossett was first elected to the state Senate in 2020 to represent District 35 in Midtown Tulsa.
Dossett followed in the footsteps of her parents to become a teacher after earning her bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College in Missouri. She also holds a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University-Tulsa. Additionally, Dossett served in the U.S. Peace Corps for two years before returning to the Tulsa area to begin her teaching career and raise her family. She taught English as a Second Language for 15 years in the Tulsa area and is a past school district Teacher of the Year.
Dossett has two children and attends St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tulsa. She is also a member of the Tulsa Rotary Club.
