The Senate has given full approval to legislation that will provide for state licensure of midwives.  Senate Bill 1823 creates “Shepherd’s Law,” by Sen. Brenda Stanley.  The bill was approved by a wide margin and with bipartisan support on Wednesday, 41 to 5.

            State Sen. Brenda Stanley has been chosen for a new committee assignment for the 2020 legislative session.  Stanley, R-Midwest City, has been given a seat on the Senate Education Committee, tasked with addressing public policy legislation impacting education throughout the state.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Brenda Stanley was appointed by incoming Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat to serve on four Senate committees for the 57th Legislature. The Oklahoma City Republican will serve on the Senate standing committees for Retirement and Insurance, Finance, and Veterans and Military Affairs. She will also serve on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education.
