Senator Milacek Will Not Seek Re-Election in 2004

Senator Robert Milacek, R-Enid, announced today that he will not seek re-election to the Senate District 19 seat in 2004. Senate District 19 includes Garfield, Kingfisher, and Logan Counties.

“After much thought, consideration and consultation with my family, I have decided not to seek a third Senate term in 2004. I will be working with our leadership and party officials to ensure that we keep this seat for the Republican Party,” said Senator Milacek.

Milacek serves as Vice Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee and also serves on the committees for Agriculture, Appropriations, Education, Government Operations, Human Resources and Legislative Reapportionment.

With one legislative session remaining in his term, Milacek said he will continue to work hard to fulfill his legislative duties and represent the constituents of his district.

Milacek served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1976 to 1982. He was elected to the Oklahoma State Senate in 1996 and is currently serving his second four-year term.

“It has been a pleasure to serve the people of District 19 in the State Senate. I appreciate so much that the people of my district have placed their trust in me to represent them in Oklahoma City. I hope that the work I have done during my tenure has made a difference for Senate District 19 and the State of Oklahoma,” said Milacek.
