Dr. Julie McIntosh represents Senate District 3. She is a Christian, wife, mother of four, grandmother, family physician, and small business owner. Julie is married to Brad McIntosh, who is also a family physician. They live on a farm in wagoner county where they raise cattle, chickens, and bees.
Sen. McIntosh attended Indiana Wesleyan University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts, and the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at St. Anthony Family Practice Residency in Oklahoma City.
In 2001, they moved to Eastern Oklahoma where Brad was recruited to join the practice of Tom Coburn. Julie began working for the Muskogee County Health Department where she has worked for most of the last 22 years, primarily in the role of Medical Director. In 2020, she also became the Medical Director for Okmulgee County Health Department. She retired from medicine in January of 2023.
McIntosh has homeschooled her children for over 20 years, and she has been active in operating several homeschool co-ops. She has also taught at the university level, at church, and on a volunteer basis at Indian Capital Technology Center.
Volunteer service is an important part of the McIntosh family’s life, and they have served in volunteer positions in various capacities in Africa, Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, and here in their home church and community. Julie also served on the Wagoner County Board of Adjustment.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and hunting.
