Senator Jech has deep roots in Oklahoma and his family has farmed here since statehood. He was born and raised east of Kingfisher. He attended first through eight grades at Big 4 School and graduated from Kingfisher High School. He attended Seminole State College and later graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Jech married his wife Vicky in 1978. She is a retired, career educator having taught from 1981 to 2016. Their daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Michael, live in Edmond with granddaughters Macy and Elizabeth Aholt. Their son, Ryan, and his wife, Britni, live in Broken Arrow with daughter, Blakely. Both children and their spouses are graduates of Oklahoma State University.
Before his 2014 election, he served as a member of the Kingfisher City Council, Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Kingfisher Hospital Board, the Kingfisher Educational Foundation Board, the Kingfisher Industrial Foundation Board, and Central Oklahoma Red Cross Board. He remains active as an Elder at First Christian Church of Kingfisher and as a member of the Rotary Club and continues to partner with a brother in a cow-calf operation on the family farm east of Kingfisher.
He enjoys golf, running, hunting and fishing, and loves traveling with his wife and spending free time with his family.
