OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, on Thursday announced the Senate appointments to the newly created Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR).

Previously, Treat named Sen. Julie Daniels, R-Bartlesville, as co-chair of the joint committee made up of members from the Senate and the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat on Wednesday announced changes to Senate leadership and some committee chair assignments.

Treat said Sen. Greg McCortney, R-Ada, will take over the duties of majority floor leader from Sen. Kim David, R-Porter. Treat said David will continue her Senate service and she will remain a trusted voice and leader for Senate Republicans.

State Sen. Tom Dugger has authored legislation to make college textbooks exempt from sales taxes in Oklahoma. Dugger, R-Stillwater, said after discussing the idea with students from Oklahoma State University, he decided to file Senate Bill 1150.

Tom Dugger has been chosen to head the Appropriations Subcommittee on Select Agencies for the 57th Legislature.  The subcommittee oversees 57 state agencies, boards and commissions.  These are entities that do not receive state appropriations but are funded through fees and through the services they provide.

Senator Greg Treat, president pro tempore-designate of the Oklahoma Senate, announced his selections of Senate appropriations subcommittee chairs for the next legislative session that convenes in February. Treat also named the vice chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and named the chair of the Senate Finance Committee, which will return to a standing committee during the next session.

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau (OKFB) has named their 100 Percent Club members for 2017, which includes members of the legislature voting 100 percent for measures OKFB as identified as important to farmers, ranchers and rural Oklahoma during the legislative session.  Sen.
