OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Lisa Standridge, R-Norman, proudly took her oath of office on Wednesday in a ceremony led by Sen. Brent Howard, the chamber’s chief presiding officer, in the Senate chamber. Standridge’s family and friends attended the special occasion in the Senate gallery.
Standridge is one of 14 new senators joining the Legislature this year.
Standridge grew up in Noble and with a commitment to service and hard work, values that inspired her journey from a family-centered upbringing to a career in healthcare. After earning a Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, she launched several successful businesses, creating meaningful jobs for fellow Oklahomans.
“I’m deeply grateful for the support of my family, friends, and community who have believed in me every step of the way,” Standridge shared. “It’s a true honor to represent Senate District 15, and I’m eager to uphold the values that unite us and work for a prosperous future for all.”
The 60th session of the Oklahoma Legislature will begin on Jan. 7 with an organizational day for selecting leadership and setting rules, followed by the start of the full legislative session on Feb. 3.
