Senator Wingard Gives Keynote Speech at Ada CLEET Graduation

Sen. Jonathan Wingard, R-Ada, shakes hands with Teagon Moler, of the Elk City Police Department, at Friday’s CLEET graduation ceremony at Ada High School.

ADA — Senator Jonathan Wingard, R-Ada, delivered the keynote address Friday at the graduation ceremony for the most recent Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) class.

The event, held at Ada High School, recognized 108 cadets, 75 of whom were in attendance. All the graduates completed 16 weeks of rigorous training to become certified peace officers.

The graduates were already serving in law enforcement and first responder roles across the state, including in police departments, sheriff’s offices, fire departments, and other public safety agencies.

In his remarks, Senator Wingard praised the graduates for their commitment to public service and shared reflections from his 18 years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He spoke about the importance of living by the seven core Army values: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage.

“It was truly an honor to celebrate these Oklahomans who have chosen a life of service and sacrifice,” said Senator Wingard. “These graduates have answered the call to serve at a time when thoughtful, well-trained public safety professionals are needed more than ever. Their dedication, discipline and commitment to protecting others reflect the very best of what it means to put on a uniform and wear a badge. Oklahoma is safer because of each and every one of them.”
