Senator Tom Woods Comments on Governor’s Poultry Producer Gathering in Adair County

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Tom Woods, R-Westville, released the following statement Tuesday after Governor Stitt traveled to Adair County to meet with Oklahoma poultry producers and address issues impacting the industry, including State of Oklahoma v. Tyson Foods, Inc.

“Today’s gathering in Adair County provided an important opportunity for producers to share their firsthand experiences and the real-world impacts these issues are having on their operations and families.

“I extend my sincere appreciation to Governor Stitt for traveling to Senate District 4 and meeting with more than 300 poultry producers to discuss the potential impacts of proposed industry changes due to ongoing litigation and regulatory uncertainty.

“As eastern Oklahoma producers continue to navigate these challenges, it is essential that state leaders stand with them and defend their livelihoods. Governor Stitt has built a pro-agriculture administration that fights for Oklahoma farmers and ranchers. I am confident that under the steadfast leadership of Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur and Secretary of Energy and Environment Jeff Starling, the State of Oklahoma can implement policies that support producers and strengthen the agriculture industry while balancing environmental management.

“I stand with Governor Stitt in fighting for Oklahoma’s poultry industry, and I want to thank all the producers and community members who attended and made their voices heard.”
