Senator Taylor Names Three to Women's Commission

Senate President Pro Tempore Stratton Taylor announced three appointments to the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women today.

"This is a very important panel and it needs our best and brightest citizens to serve on it. I think our appointees will do an excellent job," said Senator Taylor.

The commission, created in 1994, addresses gender issues.

The Senate appointees include:

  • Diana McGuire, Claremore. Ms. McGuire is a community leader in Claremore and student services director for Platt College. She was reappointed to serve another five-year term on the panel.

  • Debbie Leftwich, Oklahoma City. Ms. Leftwich is a long-time state employee who is also active in her community in south Oklahoma City.

  • Lynn Saunders, Midwest City. Ms. Saunders is a law clerk for Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange.

"All of the appointees have distinguished themselves in their respective communities. They're willingness to come together and donate their time to serve the entire state is commendable," said Senator Taylor.
