CHANDLER – Sen. Grant Green, R-Wellston, today thanked U.S. Rep. Stephanie Bice for securing $8 million in federal funding for improvements at the Chandler Regional Airport.
Green attended a ceremony at the airport on Tuesday as Bice presented a check to Chandler City Manager Jason Orr.
The grant will help the City of Chandler extend the airport’s runway so it can accommodate larger airplanes. The project will extend the runway from about 4,000 feet to 5,000 feet.
Green said this is just one of the many major upgrades coming to the regional airport. He also thanked Rep. Bice for visiting Senate District 28.
“The Chandler Regional Airport is a tremendous asset for local businesses and the community as a whole,” Green said. “This runway extension is a significant investment in Chandler’s future. Once this project is complete, the airport will be able to safely accommodate larger aircraft and increased traffic, which opens the door to new economic opportunities for our region. I’m grateful for Congresswoman Bice’s work in Washington to secure this grant funding that will make it easier for Chandler to attract new businesses and more jobs.”
