Sen. Paul Rosino, R-Oklahoma City, commented Tuesday on the Oklahoma ACES (Aerospace Commerce Economic Services) Programs first year and its many accomplishments. Rosino was the principal Senate author of House Bill 2578 in 2018 creating the state aerospace program.
The participation in the ACES Program and the growth it has created in our states aerospace and aviation industry has been phenomenal, Rosino said. We have worked tirelessly bringing together industry experts and government officials as well as the business and education communities to figure out what steps need to be taken to further grow this incredible industry. This is just the beginning, and were not slowing down. This will be Oklahomas top industry in the coming decade because of the hard work of the ladies and gentlemen in the ACES Program.
HB 2578 created a partnership of businesses, manufacturers, military installations, commercial aviation, educational institutions, nonprofit research institutions and state government to better meet the needs of the aerospace, aviation and defense industries while creating a common statewide growth strategy.Overseen by the state Department of Commerce, ACES held quarterly public Advisory Forums throughout the past year to gather input on how to strengthen and grow the industry.
