Sen. Jech tells current and former constituents, ‘my door is always open’

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Darcy Jech, R-Kingfisher, is expressing his thanks to those constituents he served for eight years in the Senate who now will be represented by other members due to redistricting following the last U.S. Census.  Boundaries for legislative districts are redrawn every 10 years to reflect population changes. 

Jech was elected to a third term last fall. As of the 2022 general election, he serves all of Custer, Caddo and Blaine Counties, most of Kingfisher County, and part of Canadian County, but no longer represents Roger Mills and Beckham Counties. Citizens in Roger Mills County previously served by Jech are now represented by Sen. Casey Murdock, R-Felt, and those in Beckham County are now served by Sen. Brent Howard, R-Altus.

“First of all, to those citizens I had the pleasure of representing prior to redistricting, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, input and friendship,” Jech said.  “I know Senator Murdock and Senator Howard will do an outstanding job serving your communities, but also know my door is always open to you as well.”

This is the first session since redistricting that Jech will represent part of Canadian County.

“I once again want to thank those citizens in Canadian County I’ll be serving for allowing me to be your voice in the Senate,” Jech said.  “If you have any questions about state government, proposed legislation or other policy matters, please do not hesitate to reach out to me,” Jech said.  “To my friends and fellow citizens in Custer, Caddo, Blaine and Kingfisher Counties that I will continue to serve, I also want to express my thanks and I encourage your continued input on issues that are important to you, your families and your community.”
