Sen. Boren asks for public feedback ahead of study on county law libraries

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mary Boren, D-Norman, is asking the public to provide feedback ahead of her upcoming interim study on county law libraries. County law libraries provide free access to legal materials, including state and federal statutes, city ordinances, and other resources for legal research. The study will be held by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in room 4S9 of the state Capitol.

Boren’s study will examine the current role and funding mechanisms of county law libraries and how they serve the public, attorneys, and judges.

“I’m asking for feedback on how expanded law library services assist with legal aid, help for those representing themselves in legal cases without an attorney, notary access and other services,” Boren said. “I want to know what ideas folks have to help public law libraries better serve our communities.”
