Sen. Boren asks for public feedback ahead of interim study on Flock cameras

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mary Boren, D-Norman, is asking the public to provide feedback ahead of her upcoming interim study on the use of Flock cameras to be heard in the Senate’s Public Safety Committee on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. in room 230 of the state Capitol.

Promoted as a law enforcement tool, there have increasingly been reports of citizens being misidentified in crimes, as well as officials accessing those tracking systems to stalk former partners.

“Oklahomans value their Fourth Amendment right to live without unnecessary surveillance,” Boren said. “There are also profit motives along with public safety concerns that I hope to address in this study. I would really appreciate hearing from Oklahomans about their experiences and thoughts about Flock cameras.”

Comments should be sent to Mary.Boren@oksenate.gov. The public and press are welcome to attend the study, which will also be livestreamed at oksenate.gov/room-230.
