State Sen. Micheal Bergstrom was officially sworn in for his second term in the Oklahoma State Senate on Monday, Nov. 16. The oath of office ceremony took place in small groups in the Oklahoma Senate chambers to accommodate for COVID-19 safety protocols and State Capitol restoration construction projects.
During Bergstrom’s first term, he sat on four senate committees including education; business, commerce and tourism; public safety; and transportation. The Adair Republican received many honors, including the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association’s Freshman of the Year and Minuteman awards. His strong support of law enforcement and agricultural issues has also been recognized by the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association, Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.
“It’s an honor to have been re-elected to serve the people of Senate District 1 for another four-year term,” Bergstrom said. “We have much work to be done to move our state forward, and I’m looking forward to joining another group of thoughtful leaders to create innovative solutions to make Oklahoma a Top Ten state.”
The Senate will hold a one-day organizational meeting on Jan. 5 and convene in the first day of the legislative session on Feb. 1.
