Sen. Anderson honored for support of Career Tech

Sen. Patrick Anderson Sen. Patrick Anderson

State Sen. Patrick Anderson has received the “Distinguished Service Award” from the Oklahoma Association of Career Tech Educators (ACTE). Anderson, R-Enid, was honored by the organization at a luncheon in Oklahoma City on Thursday.

“Oklahoma’s Career Techs have played a vital role as we’ve worked to diversify and expand Oklahoma’s economy, offering critical skills and degrees in a wide range of fields,” Anderson said. “As we work to attract high paying jobs in the aerospace industry, in computer technology and in medical professions, our Career Techs are helping us achieve that goal.”

The Oklahoma ACTE Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals or organizations outside the field of career and technology education for meritorious contributions to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of career and technology education. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, Anderson has championed legislation to support and assist the state’s career tech centers.

“I am honored to receive this award from the members of Oklahoma ACTE, and I’m appreciative of their recognition, but I am just as thankful for their dedication in helping Oklahomans receive the education necessary to begin new careers and pursue better lives, for themselves and their families.”
