State Senator Adam Pugh has been selected to receive the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association Legislative Award at the 2018 OSA Awards Banquet this summer.
The OSA award is given to legislators for their service and leadership in supporting the sheriffs of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association. Pugh was tapped for the award for his work in authoring Senate Bill 279 with Rep. Ryan Martinez, which authorizes a county sheriff to contract with an entity that is engaged in the business of transportation of prisoners, for the feeding, care, housing, and upkeep of federal, state, or municipal prisoners incarcerated in the county jail. The measure will produce savings and allow counties to forecast occupancy.
“I’m incredibly honored to be chosen for this legislative award,” said Pugh, R- Edmond. “This past year has offered many challenges, but our legislature is comprised of so many talented men and women who strive to seek the best for Oklahoma and continued support from organizations like the OSA is appreciated.”
