Pro Tem Designee Paxton Comments on New Member Swearing In

Senate Republicans select vice chair

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Pro Tem Designee Lonnie Paxton, R-Tuttle, today released the following statement after the Senate swearing in ceremony on the Senate Floor at the Oklahoma Capitol.

"Today, we officially and proudly welcome our newly sworn-in senators to the Oklahoma Senate,” Pro Tem Designee Paxton said. “Their commitment to serving our state, their constituents and all Oklahomans marks the beginning of an important journey. We look forward to the ideas, passion and dedication they bring to the chamber. Each new senator holds a unique perspective that will strengthen our mission to support Oklahoma families, grow our economy and uphold the values of our communities. Together, we are ready to work toward a brighter future for our state."

The following is a list of new Republican members of the Oklahoma Senate who were sworn in today and a link to their statements following the ceremony.

The Senate Republican Caucus today also elected Senator Warren Hamilton, District 7, as its caucus vice chair. Senator Dave Rader, District 39, will remain as Senate Caucus chair.
