Pederson Nominee Confirmed by Energy & Telecommunications Committee

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Thursday, the Energy and Telecommunications Committee approved the nomination of Jeff Wilber, carried by Sen. Roland Pederson, R-Burlington, to the Oklahoma Air Quality Advisory Council. Wilber, a distinguished native of Cherokee, Oklahoma, brings a lifetime of experience and commitment to agriculture and community service to this esteemed position.

Born and raised in Cherokee, Oklahoma, Wilber developed a deep-rooted love for agriculture from an early age, spending countless hours alongside his grandfather. The Wilber family's legacy in agriculture traces back to the mid-1920s when Jeff's father and grandfather established the Minneapolis Moline dealership, laying the groundwork for Wilber Fertilizer Service.

After attending Cherokee Public Schools, Wilber pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Agriculture Economics. It was during his time at OSU that he met his wife, Patti, and the two embarked on a lifelong journey together.

Returning to Cherokee after graduating, Wilber embraced the opportunity to join the family business, leveraging his mechanical acumen, agricultural expertise, and strong work ethic to achieve success. Over the next fifty years, he played a pivotal role in the growth and prosperity of Wilber Fertilizer Service, while also raising his three children.

Wilber's dedication to agriculture and community service extends beyond his professional endeavors. He is actively involved in various civic and community organizations, embodying the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion.

“Jeff Wilber's lifelong commitment to agriculture and his unwavering dedication to serving his community make him an outstanding choice for the Oklahoma Air Quality Advisory Council,” Pederson said. “I am confident that his wealth of experience and leadership will greatly benefit our state as we address critical air quality issues.”

Wilber’s confirmation will now head to the Senate floor for consideration.
