OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Lonnie Paxton will be continuing to serve in his leadership position as Assistant Majority Floor Leader for the 59th Legislature, along with some new committee assignments. Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat appointed the Tuttle Republican to serve as chair of the Energy and Telecommunications Committee and vice chair of the Rules Committee.
"I’m honored to once again have the opportunity to serve as Assistant Floor Leader and help guide our caucus and the business of the Senate,” Paxton said. “I’m especially looking forward to leading the newly revamped committee that will focus on the state’s efforts to expand broadband statewide. This will be a massive undertaking as we work with the Broadband Office to ensure all Oklahomans have access to this critical service.”
Paxton will also sit on the Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Education, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, along with the Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services.
