Dahm files resolution declaring 2024 the ‘Year of the Bible’

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, released the following statement after filing Senate Concurrent Resolution 25.

“Now more than ever, our state is in need of a spiritual awakening,” Dahm said. “We must return to the inherently biblical values that inspired our founders and made this country great.”

SCR 25 recognizes the unique role the Bible played in shaping the United States.  For instance, that biblical teachings inspired certain concepts found in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The resolution also recognizes that many U.S. presidents paid tribute to the influence of the Bible.

“The founders were influenced by the Bible and placed certain biblical concepts in our founding documents. Past presidents recognized the Bible’s significance and went out of their way to pay tribute to it. Unfortunately, the current regime in Washington is actively working to destroy any reference to these biblical roots.

“President Biden touting ‘trans day of visibility’ on Easter is just the most recent example of the anti-Christian nature of the rogue regime in Washington. President Biden claims to be a ‘devout catholic,’ but it seems he would rather celebrate the destructive ideology of sexual and biological perversion than the Christian principles that shaped our nation.

“Second Chronicles 20:20 says ‘Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established.’ As we begin a new era in Oklahoma, I am hopeful this resolution will help people look to truth in 2024 and the years to come.”
