OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard, has introduced Senate Bill 1275 to safeguard the future of state parks across the state. The measure aims to ensure that the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission must receive legislative approval before taking any action that may result in the termination, cancellation, or non-renewal of a lease for real property where a state park is located.
“State parks are treasured assets that provide opportunities for outdoor recreation, environmental education, and family enjoyment,” Burns said. “Senate Bill 1275 aims to ensure that decisions regarding the management and ownership of state park properties are made with careful consideration and oversight to preserve these valuable assets for the benefit of all Oklahomans.”
SB 1275 is available to be considered.
