Brian Guthrie takes Oath of Office

OKLAHOMA CITY – Brian Guthrie was sworn into the Oklahoma Senate during a ceremony in the Senate Chamber on Wednesday. The Senate’s Chief Presiding Officer, Sen. Brent Howard, presided over the ceremony, and Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice M. John Kane IV administered the oath of office.

Guthrie was born and raised in Bixby, where he and his wife, Wendi, have raised their two children and continue to operate their real estate brokerage firm. He has served as Bixby Mayor since 2019. Throughout his 13 years of volunteer service on the City Council, Guthrie has championed efforts to expand the local economy, improve city infrastructure, and invest in the Bixby fire and police departments.

He will begin his first term in the Oklahoma Senate on November 20.

“As I begin my service to Senate District 25, I’m deeply honored and ready to serve with a commitment to the values that matter most—faith, family, and freedom. I look forward to working with my constituency and my colleagues in the Legislature to safeguard our freedoms, drive economic growth, and ensure the safety and well-being of Oklahoma citizens. Together, we will build a strong, prosperous future for our state, grounded in the principles that make Oklahoma great,” Guthrie said.
