Statement from Sen. Stanislawski on new CNG stations

I’m so pleased by the recent news that Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Love’s Travel Stores have partnered to grow the compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure across the state. Beginning next month, Love’s plans to add ten publicly accessible CNG fueling stations at existing locations across Oklahoma. These stations, located in Altus, Ardmore, Chickasha, Guthrie, Guymon, Lawton, Norman, Okemah, Oklahoma City and Webbers Falls, will be built and operated in partnership with Chesapeake.

I’m proud of these Oklahoma-based companies for being proactive in making CNG easily accessible to the public. Oklahoma has been a national leader in this industry and I applaud Chesapeake and Love’s for their tremendous foresight and continued diligence in forwarding this industry in our state. Their efforts are helping make Oklahoma a national example for how we can reduce our country’s reliance on foreign oil imports by using our own indigenous fuel, Oklahoma natural gas.

The addition of these ten stations will bring the state’s public CNG fueling station count to more than 50, and will significantly increase access to this affordable fuel, which is good news for all of us!
