Sen. McCortney comments on Supreme Court Ruling overturning Roe v. Wade

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Majority Floor Leader Greg McCortney, R-Ada, issued the following statement Friday after the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade:

“For the six years I’ve served in the Oklahoma Senate, I’ve worked diligently to support and pass legislation to defend and protect life in the hopes that one day, the Supreme Court would reverse the Roe v. Wade ruling handed down in 1973.  That day has finally come, and the laws we had proactively placed on the books will now enable us to save the lives of thousands of innocent babies here in Oklahoma. 

“The pro-life legislation that has already become law in Oklahoma will make us the model for other states throughout the country. I am grateful for the efforts of my fellow members and the tireless advocacy of citizens in every part of our state to ensure our laws protecting life are now the strongest in the nation.”
