Sen. Allen receives perfect score on annual Oklahoma Conservative Index

OKLHOMA CITY – State Sen. Mark Allen has received a score of 100 percent on the 41st annual Oklahoma Conservative Index.  Allen, R-Spiro, was one of only four members of the State Legislature to receive a perfect score.

In addition to his perfect voting record on conservative issues, Allen was also the authored of one of the ten bills that resulted in this year’s index ratings.

“I was proud to be the Senate principal author of HB 2591.  This bill prohibits the state from granting Medicaid funding to any healthcare provider that has failed to report statutory rape as required by mandatory child-abuse reporting laws,” Allen said.  “Child molesters sometimes use abortion to help cover up their crimes.  This measure is a powerful tool to get more providers to comply with the law.”

The ratings were based on votes on key legislative votes as determined by the membership of the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee. The issues included protecting free speech, the right to keep and bear arms, protecting life, opposing government overreach, against subsidizing businesses and in opposition to revisionist history.

Other legislators receiving perfect scores for the 2019 session were Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, Rep. Tom Gann, R-Inola, and Rep. Jim Olsen, R-Roland.
