Ally Seifried takes oath of office, begins first term in Oklahoma Senate
OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Ally Seifried, R-Claremore, has officially begun her first term in the Oklahoma Senate. Seifried took her oath of office during a ceremony held Wednesday in the Senate Chamber surrounded by friends and family. Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell presided over the ceremony, and Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Richard Darby administered the oath.
“One of my top priorities as I begin my Senate service is protecting Oklahomans from federal government overreach, especially for small business owners,” Seifried said. “My family owns multiple small businesses, so I know how crucial it is to protect their rights and reduce government regulations. I am also a strong supporter of parental choice in education, as parents know what is best for their children. My priorities are clear, put Oklahoma values and America first.”
Seifried is a ninth-generation Oklahoman, and a Claremore native. She earned a degree in political science from Rogers State University and was first introduced to the Senate when she worked for Sen. Dan Newberry. Ally and her husband, JP, are members of DestinyLife Church. With a brother in the U.S. Marine Corps, she knows what it means to defend our freedoms and strongly believes in fighting for our constitutional rights here at the Capitol, including Second Amendment rights and protecting the unborn.
Jan. 3 will serve as an organizational day for the Senate to elect chamber leaders and adopt rules, with the 59th Legislature officially convening on Feb. 6.
